Overlord is a great isekai anime in my book because of its attention to detail and the love it has for its characters and the world. It’s not as if this is a necessity for a great anime or story but it really helps to shape the world and make it more interesting and dynamic. I have also enjoyed looking further into this world after watching the anime for more interesting info about their backstories, characteristics, abilities, weapons, traits and so on. It’s very elaborate and there is a lot to dig in after and fun things to learn about it if that is of interest.

Overlord is the story of our mighty “Ainz Ooal Gown” the mage and how he ended up inside some MMO where he had built a big guild with his guildmates. It’s a pretty good show in my opinion because of great animations and the cool characters. There are parts of the anime that are kinda slow and boring and I’m sure some people might find certain parts of it uninteresting but I don’t think that’s many and I personally like most of the show. The stuff I’m referring to is mostly just the worldbuilding and the interactions between characters and the introduction of new ones which I’m sure isn’t as interesting to some but I really enjoyed it. All the characters are quite unique and have very different characters which makes it interesting and fun.

I’m not sure what to say about this anime honestly. It’s a show made by some dude who didn’t have someone to play DnD with at some point so he decided to make his own really detailed and intricate world. The show luckily isn’t some boring fact book about the world but rather a well told story describing it’s characters and how they wander around it. It’s fun and interesting and despite some ups and downs is it still a favorite of mine. Can recommend.
