Treasure planet is an animated Disney film from 2002 that at the time of making, took use of a bunch of new and advanced animation techniques to produce a very pretty and cool film. Doing this meant it costed a bunch of money to make and it took a long time for the directors to get permission to make the film which all has contributed to some controversy about the film at its release and further down the road. This is on the other hand just the past and doesn’t affect this awesome film much.
The film follows the journey of the young and adventurous Jim Hawkins and the endangerment he gets put in after a pirate crash lands at his moms inn and he is given a very special artifact. I don’t wanna say anymore about the plot except he goes sailing on the open seas of the universe as I personally think the movie is more enjoyable the less you know about it if you are unfamiliar with the film.
The movie is one of my favorite animation films and I’m just head over heels for it. It’s got some really great characters and does a great job showing their emotions, the struggles they are facing and makes it very clear where their motivations lie. The visuals if you hadn’t caught on about that is just freaking awesome and so cool. It’s not mind blowing as it’s from 2002 but it’s still some very cool and pretty scenes that is very enjoyable to watch even today. It’s overall just a really great movie that I can recommend for it’s characters and cool visuals. It also has a really nice story a great selection of interesting moments and twists and turns. A fun and good movie.
